A Sussex singer is one of the favourites to win this year’s Britain’s Got Talent.

Richard Hadfield, from Portslade, is one of the five members of Collabro - a boyband with a difference.

The operatic group wowed the audience and judges on Saturday night's audition show when they performed Stars from the hit musical Les Miserables.

They were unanimously voted through by the show's judges and will now go on to the live semi finals.

Richard, 20, featured in The Argus in 2010, after earning his school fees for Hurstpierpoint College by busking in Brighton and Hove during the school holidays.

He was also spotted singing in George Street last Friday before the show went out on Saturday night.

The band has only been together for one month but is already an early favourite.

Richard, who already has more than 3,100 Twitter followers, tweeted: "I'm dreaming, I must be, Thank you for all your support for the five of us!"
