Eleven mopeds and five cars have been stolen since the beginning of March in a wave of vehicle thefts.
Police are warning motorbike and moped owners in Littlehampton to be extra vigilant about the security of their vehicles.
In the latest incident, police were alerted to an attempted break-in to a shop in Highfield, Wick, at around 3.45am on Monday (April 14).
Three youths were seen to leave the area on two mopeds and these are believed to be the ones that a short time later were found burnt out in a service road behind Arundel Road in Littlehampton. One was known to be stolen.
Most of the stole vehicles were recovered either abandoned or burnt out.
Anyone who has any information about this incident or any other thefts is asked to contact Sussex Police at 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting serial 110 of 14/04.
