Another four motorists have been convicted of drink or drug-driving offences.

All of the men were arrested as part of Sussex Police's Christmas crackdown on motorists using the roads while on drugs or after drinking.

A total of 108 drivers have now been successfully prosecuted as part of the campaign.

Valerijs Korolovs was arrested after he drove his Volkswagen Sharan into the back of an Audi A3 in Manor Road, Selsey, at 11pm on 8 December but then left the scene.

Officers tracked the 34-year-old down to his home in Orchard Parade, Selsey, where he failed a breath test.

Korolovs was convicted of drink-driving, driving without a licence and failing to stop after an accident.  He was given an eight-week suspended prison sentence, was banned from driving for 18 months and ordered to pay £85 costs.

Andre Nimri was arrested on 10 December after he was found sitting in a car in Lottbridge Drove, Eastbourne, at 10.40pm.

Nimri, 26, of Castle Rise, Uckfield, was convicted of being in charge of a vehicle while unfit through drugs. He was given 10 points on his licence, fined £220 and ordered to pay £85 costs.

Philip Turner was arrested in Sevenoaks Road, Eastbourne, at 11.30pm on 18 December after he was stopped and admitted that he had been driving home.

Turner, 37, of Heron Ridge, Polegate, was convicted of drug-driving and was banned from the roads for three years, fined £300 and ordered to pay £85 costs.

Stephen Moore was arrested at 8.40pm on December 22 after a car crash in Station Road, Plumpton.

Moore, 40, of Winterbourne Lane, Lewes, was convicted of drink-driving. He was banned from driving for 26 months and ordered to pay a £100 fine and £85 costs.
