A man who was involved in a domestic assault had to be rescued from a top floor window by the fire service.
Sussex Police said they were called by the ambulance service just after 3pm to respond the incident in Nelson Road, Sompting.
They were told an assault had taken place and an arrest has been made.
There were concerns over the man suffering a back injury so he was removed from the house on a spinal board being carried by a fire service aerial platform.
He was transferred to the ambulance and was taken to hospital.
