A teenager was attacked while playing football in Hastings.
The incident happened on Monday, April 14 at 1.30pm in a wooded area of Alexandra Park.
The 17-year-old boy was set upon by a man and suffered cuts to his face and arm. He went to hospital for treatment.
Detective Sergeant Anthony Webb said: "I am keen to speak anyone who may have been in Alexandra Park at the time of the incident. The weather was good and it is the Easter school holidays so there is every possibility that there are witnesses to this."
Anyone who saw the incident is asked to call 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 0926 of 14/04. Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
