The waste management business that runs the site where a body was found earlier today believe it was tipped there by a vehicle belonging to another company.

Police were called just before 9am this morning (TUE) to reports that a body had been found at the Rudford Industrial Estate near Ford.

The body of a white man believed to be aged in his 20s was found at the waste site. Detectives are at the early stages of their investigation into the circumstances and at this time the death is being treated as unexplained.

In a series of Tweets following the discovery, South Coast Skips ltd, confirmed the body had been discovered at about 8.40am this morning.

It said it believes the body was tipped at the site by a dustcart that is operated by a separate company but was unable to comment further due to the police investigation.

The company sent out a Tweet, saying: "The management team and all of the employees of South Coast Skips Ltd would like to pass on our condolences to family of the deceased."
