On December 6, 2012 officers from Operation Elveden arrested a 39-year-old woman at her home in Sussex.

On April 17 she was cleared.

A Sussex Police statement said: “The woman, a journalist, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to corrupt contrary to the Criminal Law Act 1977 and suspicion of conspiracy to cause misconduct in a public office contrary to the Criminal Law Act 1977.

“She was later bailed to return to a Sussex police station pending further inquiries.
