A 61-year-old will tackle a four-day rainforest trek for charity.
Gwyneth Bryant, from Eastbourne, will climb a dizzying 4,600 metres through subtropical jungle before arriving at the ancient Inca city of Machu Picchu in Peru.
Before the trek in October, she will also help at one of the country’s community projects while acclimatising to the altitude. She hopes to raise £3,500 which will go to The Salvation Army’s Eastbourne Citadel and Eastbourne Old Town Corps.
