Blundering would-be burglars used tools including pickaxes, hammers and a crowbar to try and smash their way into a Post Office.
But they failed.
The attempt to break into Watersfield Post Office, London Road, Coldwaltham, took place sometime between Sunday, April 20, and Monday, April 21.
A Sussex Police statement said: “It would appear the offender/s tried to gain access by using various tools including; pickaxes, hammers and a crowbar and they were able to break through some of the bricks.
“No entry was gained.
“Police are appealing for anyone with information to call 101 quoting 0381 of 21/04/14.”
