The manager of a Turkish restaurant has been fined for letting people smoke inside.
Ali Cill, 29, manager of Ottoman Cuisine in Lewes Road, Brighton was ordered to pay £260 after pleading guilty at Brighton Magistrates’ Court of failing to stop people smoking inside the restaurant.
Environmental Health officers from Brighton and Hove City Council visited the restaurant following noise complaint on January 10 and noticed people smoking and ash trays on tables.
Mr Cill told the court it was a private party and admitted he knew people were smoking inside.
He was fined £120, ordered to pay £120 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
