A woman was attacked as she walked home from a pub.
The 40-year-old victim was attacked in Preston Road, Bexhill, on Sunday 20, April 20.
She had left New Inn Pub at 1am and was approached by a man who stopped and asked her for a cigarette.
After giving him one, he then asked for money.
When the victim was unable to give him any, he pushed her to the ground and attempted to rob her.
The victim managed to get away from him when the man got distracted by two passing vehicles.
The suspect is described as a mixed race, aged 20 to 22, of slim build and with short hair. He was wearing a black coat, dark blue jeans and dark blue trainers.
