Thieves stole a games console from a home after gaining entry through a cat flap.

A property in Downlands Avenue, Bexhill, was burgled between 8am and 6.30pm on Tuesday.

Police say entry was gained through the cat flap on the back door by possibly reaching round to the door handle. The intruder stole jewellery from a bedroom, and an Xbox games console and a Kindle tablet from downstairs.

Any witness who saw anyone acting suspiciously or anyone with information is asked to call 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 1324 of 29/4.

Cat burglars, presumably? How on earth did they manage to get in through a cat flap? I couldn't even persuade my last two cats to do that!
