The University and College Union, one of the three recognised campus trade unions, have announced that they have accepted the employers' offer of a 2% pay rise for 2014-15.

The decision means that the planned marking boycott that was due to take place on May 6 will not go ahead.

The University of Sussex made the announcement on its website.

A spokeswoman said: "The University is pleased that UCU have accepted the national pay offer of 2% for 2014-15 and have confirmed that the national pay dispute carried over from 2013-14 has been resolved.

“As a result, the marking boycott which could have started on 6 May will not now go ahead. The University wishes all students the best for their forthcoming exams and hopes that this positive news removes any residual concerns they may have had."
