Hassocks road shut because of large hole

First published in News

A large hole has closed a road.

Keymer Road, Hassocks, is shut today due to a large hole in the road between South Bank and Woodlands Road.

Buses were being diverted.

It comes days after the road was closed because of a gas leak.

A Southern Gas Network spokeswoman said: “We're currently working to repair a leak on our gas main in Keymer Road, Hassocks. “We have temporarily closed Keymer Road while we carry out our emergency repairs. Our engineers are working to repair the leak and restore the road surface as quickly as possible.

"We apologise for any inconvenience our urgent works may cause and we would encourage motorists to seek alternative routes while our closure is in place."
