The Argus: Record interest in Albion play-off tickets Record interest in Albion play-off tickets

Brighton and Hove Albion club officials are being inundated with passionate fans desperate to see their team’s promotion push.

The club has confirmed the sale of 22,000 tickets for the home play-off semi-final first leg against Derby County this Thursday as of 1.30pm today.

The club’s ticket office has been experiencing record call volumes while the club’s online ticketing service has continued to be busy throughout the day.

Heading into the afternoon, an Albion spokesman said call volumes are currently much lower and internet activity has slowed considerably.

However as an added precaution for season ticket holders who may have experienced delays getting through to phone lines or who have been unable to access the internet or to claim their seat for any reason the club will ring-fence their currently unclaimed seats until 7pm this evening.

However, after this time, all remaining unclaimed season ticket holder seats will be released for general sale.

The general sale for remaining match tickets will commence as planned within the next 15 minutes at 2pm.

Telephone lines will close at 7pm although online bookings can be made at any time.

All supporters are advised to check the club’s ticketing website regularly as more tickets may be made available at different times throughout the next 48 hours or until such time as the club is sold out.

Fans are also being reminded that no play-off tickets will be sold over the counter at the stadium and any ticketing queries can only be dealt with by telephone.

The club is also strongly advising fans to take advantage of the print at home service to avoid delays collecting play-off tickets but fans wishing to collect tickets purchased on Monday are advised to visit the stadium after noon tomorrow.

Meanwhile, platinum and gold members whose tickets have not yet been processed are advised their tickets will be reserved and they can either call the ticket office to make payment – or the club will be in contact with them in due course.

Is that the same 20000+ passionate fans that could not fill the Withdean stadium a few seasons ago? A cosy new stadium and a decent run of results does get the glory fans out! When will The Argus and the Brighton fans admit that half the stadium support other teams?!

It's the same for any team...when they I we'll more people,go watch. When they do badly, fewer people go.

It's true as well anywhere, that better facilities encourage more people to go.

People can be supporters, but it also costs a lot of money to go. People are more likely to justify the cost if they are more likely to have a good time. More chance of a win, or better facilities mean a better time.

It's quite simple really, so no need to so bitter or grumpy over it. Just be happy that a local team is doing well and managing to do ok financially too.

You pay for 23 games a season. How can it be a league game when the league table is finished?

the players that are now out of contract will see to it that Brighton aren't promoted because if we are they will be searching for a new club because theyre not premier league standard.... cynical I know but that's the way it is these days.... most of these players would sell their grandmothers for a few grand.... so waht's the point of going to watch this poxy team lose in the play offs.... load of shyte.... all of them... cockroaches

Bought a ticket really easily so they've got plenty. £34 - what a rip-off.

The league table is most certainly not yet finished. Its finished for some but for others the final league table has yet to be finalised. And the side winning the playoffs will go on record as finishing third in the 2013/14 league Championship.

What a lot of moaning trolls on here today.
Albion are in the play-offs (again) the club should be congratulated and we should be celebrating the fact,
I am sure that thousands of Forest,Reading,Black
burn, Ipswich and Bournemouth supporters would like to be where we are , and be only too pleased to pay the price for a play off semi final ticket, played in a top class stadium.
Wake up and smell the roses. Enjoy what is there to be enjoyed, and live the life you have been given.
