Two Finnish women were knocked to the ground and had their handbags stolen.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the theft which happened on April 26 in St Leonards.

The pair was walking along Dane Road at 1.30am when two men came up behind them and snatched their handbags.

One of the girls fell causing an injury to her hand. The suspects ran off towards Pevensey Road.

Both handbags contained cash, passports and jewellery, including a £300 Michael Kors watch and a pair of silver diamond earrings.

The suspects are both described as white, aged around 18, one 5' 10" and wearing all black clothing and the second 6' 1" wearing a grey hooded top and a baseball cap.
