THE COUNTY’S police and crime commissioner has been chosen to join a national task force looking at domestic abuse.

Katy Bourne has been chosen by Home Secretary Theresa May to serve on a National Oversight Group which will look into ways to tackle domestic abuse.

The group has been established following Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary’s report in March which set out recommendations on how police should be responding to domestic abuse.

Domestic abuse has been designated a top priority by the Home Secretary and she will personally chair the National Oversight Group.
