TENNIS champion Martina Navratilova will have a one-off conversation with veteran broadcaster David Dimbleby for charity.

Money raised will go to the Towner gallery and art museum in Eastbourne, which became a charitable trust this year.

Proceeds will also go to the Elena Baltacha Academy of Tennis in memory of the England player, who died from liver cancer last month.

The talk will take place at Eastbourne’s Congress Theatre on June 19 at 8pm.

Navratilova has won 59 Grand Slam crowns and a record nine Wimbledon singles championships.

The event ties in with the Aegon International tennis championships being held in Devonshire Park, Eastbourne, from June 14.

Towner executive director Emma Morris said: “We are thrilled to welcome Martina to Eastbourne and who better to explore her fascinating and impressive career than David Dimbleby?

“Summer is one of the busiest times of the year for Towner, where we welcome both tennis fans and art fans into the gallery over two weeks, and this event was a perfect excuse to work more closely with Aegon International and the tennis community.”

Tickets cost £20 or £15 for concessions and are available from www.eastbournetheatres.co.uk
