A man was stabbed in the stomach and then punched and kicked.

The victim was by his van in Old Church Road, St Leonards, on Friday 2 May at 9pm when a man came up behind him and stabbed him in the stomach causing a puncture wound and continued to punch and kick him.

The victim received hospital treatment for his wounds.

There are believed to be two suspects who are both described as white men, one described as lanky and over 6' in height.

PC Andy Lawrence said: "This is a vicious and unprovoked attack. Fortunately the victim wasn't seriously injured.

Any witness or anyone with information is asked to call 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 612 of 6/5. Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
