COMEDIANS helped the staff of live venue Komedia to demolish a cake to celebrate 15 years of Krater Comedy Club.

At a four-hour party on Monday, staff, board members and past performers ate the entire half-lemon drizzle and half-chocolate brownie cake specially made for the occasion by Catwalk Cakes of Bond Street, Brighton.

A spokeswoman for the venue in Gardner Street, Brighton, said: “It was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate 15 years of Krater comedy club with friends who have been with us along the way as well as comedians just starting out.”

The club was set up in June 1999 by the venue and comedian Stephen Grant. Since then Krater has become one of the UK’s most successful comedy clubs, winning the Chortle award for Best Comedy Club in the South 11 times.

It is now one of the few clubs in the country that hosts four or five shows every week to sold-out audiences.
