MUSIC lovers were given a treat when an actress and singer performed an acoustic set in a record shop.

Heather Peace sang some songs from her new album The Last Line as part of an in-store show and signing at HMV in Churchill Square, Brighton, on Monday.

About 80 fans turned out for the show on the day her album was released.

Peace became known for her role in soap opera Emmerdale in the late 1990s and then firefighting drama London’s Burning.

She appeared recently in the BBC’s Waterloo Road but currently her music is taking centre stage.

Before the gig, she tweeted that she was “very excited” about the launch.

Afterwards, she added: “Thanks for having us and thanks for the guacamole.”

Ryan Grimond, the shop’s store manager, said: “She was very nice and quite chatty, very pleasant.

“I can appreciate a good voice when I hear it and hers was very pleasing to the ear.”
