ROADWORKS have begun on the A24 in Horsham.

Work has started between Farthing Hill and Hop Oast involving the construction of the Broadbridge Heath Relief Road, new junctions to the east and west and a replacement footbridge.

The works are scheduled to take 18 months and once completed it is hoped that traffic pressure will be taken away from Broadbridge Heath and the Farthings Hill Interchange.

Work will take place between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday, and when necessary between 8am and 1pm on Saturdays.

While the works are under way, the dual carriageway will remain open but will be restricted to a single lane with a 40mph speed limit and width restriction in both directions.

The works website a24horsham.co.uk and Twitter account @a24horsham will have up-to-date information about construction activity.

For general telephone enquiries about the works call 07854 093815 between 9am and 5.30pm from Monday to Friday.
