An armed robber serving a life sentence and is considered a threat to the public is the latest convict to walk out of an open prison today.
David Blood, 48, absconded from Ford Prison near Arundel at some time between 8.30am and 1pm.
He was jailed for life at Stafford Crown Court in 2003 after he was convicted of robbing a post office in Wylde Green, Sutton Coldfield, with a number of other men in the West Midlands in December 2000.
Blood is 6' 1", of small build with brown eyes and cropped black hair.
PC Stephen Reed said: "Because of Blood's record, we have to consider that he could pose a threat to the public.
"I would urge anyone that sees him to contact us on 999 rather than approaching him."
This comes a day following police were slammed for waiting four years to send out a public appeal for murderer Robert Donovan who had walked out of the same prison.
Anyone with information about where Blood could be should call 101, email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 0800 555111.
