The Argus: Roadworks causing disruption to pub Roadworks causing disruption to pub

PUB owners have said that new roadworks are affecting their business.

Landlords at the Cock Inn near Ringmer have called on East Sussex County Council to make it clear to motorists that the pub remains open despite road closure signs on the A26.

Roadworks are scheduled on the A26 between Ringmer and Little Horsted for the next two weeks, between 8pm and 6am.

The pub’s management posted a message from their Twitter account that the road closure had been “very disruptive” to the pub’s business.

anyone who knows this pub, stuck as it is on an old section of the A26 will know its open, passing trade is minimal because it only has one sign eachway up and it has been driven past before it registers that this rather charming oasis is actualy there. try getting the council to get addition signs up further up the road each way, preferably the brown tourist ones.

Are you proposing that public money be used to advertise a private business?
