A sports coach has been charged with sex offences against girls.

Martin O'Hara, 49, of Medmerry Hill, Brighton, has been charged with five offences of indecent assault on a teenage girl then aged between 14 and 16 in Horsham between 1993 and 1996.

He has also been charged with four offences of engaging in sexual activity with a girl, then aged 13 to 15, in Henfield, between 2008 and 2011, and with one offence of sexual assault on the same girl in Henfield between 2011 and 2012.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges at Lewes Crown Court today (Monday).

He is currently on bail due to appear for trial at Crown Court, the venue of which has not been set yet, on February 16 2015.

The charges follow an investigation by West Sussex child protection detectives.
