Airline adverts state wrong towns...again

The Argus: The billboard poster in Newhaven The billboard poster in Newhaven

TWO more billboards for the Emirates airline have been put up with the name of the wrong town as part of the advertisement.

A billboard outside the Co-Op on the A259 in Newhaven mistakenly reads “Lewes, you’re closer than you think to cocktail hour” while a board on the A259 Church Road in Portslade says the same but with Hove listed instead.

On June 3 The Argus reported on a billboard in Brighton which bore the same slogan but it read Brentwood by mistake – an Essex town more than 58 miles away.

A spokesman for Emirates said: “Unfortunately, an administrative error meant that incorrect artwork was supplied. We are sorry for the error and the posters in question are being removed.”

I'm surprised that they didn't put 'Brighton' on their posters in Hove seeing as the majority of Brightonians seem to think Hove is part of their town!
