CARE homes in Worcester, Droitwich and Evesham will be throwing open their doors to visitors on Friday.

Shaw Red Hill Care Home in London Road, Worcester is inviting visitors to try out tai chi or enjoy a pampering session or a cream tea during the morning while St John’s Nursing Dementia Home in St Peter’s Walk, Droitwich, will hold an open day in its garden.

Visitors to The Hawthorns Nursing Home in Church Street, Evesham, between 2pm and 4pm will be able to have a look around the home and the Bellview Acquired Brain Injury Unit, which cares for people who have suffered brain injuries.

Manager of Shaw Red Hill Dulcie Turnier said: “I’m excited to have the opportunity to show people some of the fantastic work we do.

“Many people still have misconceptions about care homes and opening our doors to the local community is a great way to change people’s minds.”
