A pensioner wanted for recall to prison has been arrested.
Police in Chichester arrested local man Peter Overy, 71, in the city centre on Saturday morning.
He had been recalled as he failed to comply with the conditions of his prison release licence. He has a life sentence following his conviction for murder in 1991.
Overy appeared in custody at Crawley Magistrates Court on Monday charged with two offences of burglary and one of attempted burglary, all at the Oxfam shop in Chichester's South Street during May and June. He was also charged with breaching his licence.
He was sentenced to four weeks imprisonment for each offence, the sentences to run concurrently, having admitted all the offences.
