A STARLING named after England football flop Danny Welbeck has been rescued from a garden bird feeder.

Volunteers from East Sussex Wildlife Rescue and Ambulance Service (WRAS) were rushed to a garden in Uckfield where they found the hungry bird stuck in the bottom of a fat ball feeder.

They had to use wire cutters to get him out, with his head, wings and legs all sticking through different holes in the feeder.

He is currently at WRAS’ casualty centre in Whitesmith, near Hailsham where he is being treated for bruising and injuries to his thigh, back and wings. He was named after the Manchester United player as he too had suffered a thigh injury during England’s failed World Cup campaign.

England football flop Danny Welbeck???
Think thats incredibly harsh:
1) For labeling him a "flop" given the minimal amount of time he's spent on the pitch out there.
2) He's a premiership player who's made the England squad, you don't get there by looking pretty - you get there by consistency.
He may well not be the best player in the squad but labelling him a "flop" I think you're doing him an injustice.
in the past The Argus has been riddled with errors, article repitition and spelling mistakes, plus what seem like large chunks cut and pasted from other articles and web sources. When it comes to performance I think you've flopped far more than Welbeck.
Stick to the news rather than the snide comments.
