Gig goers give Argus Appeal £1,000 boost

THE generosity of gig goers and a music college has helped to boost The Argus Appeal.
The Brighton Institute of Modern Music has kindly donated £1,000 to help some of the most in need in Sussex.
The donation marks the ninth year the music college, based in Brunswick Street West in Hove, has dug deep to help this newspaper’s charity.
College manager Adam Bushell said the link-up was inspired by former student Kat Jones, from Patcham, who died from a malignant brain tumour in 2006.
He said the money was raised from ticket sales at gigs held by students and from albums featuring their music.
As well as raising cash for a number of charities, Mr Bushell said the gigs and albums helped to hone student’s skills and raised their profile among those in the industry.
