A LEADING legal firm is expanding further after merging.

Mayo Wynne Baxter will merge with law firm Stuckey Carr & Co on July 1 and operate out of Storrington and Pulborough.

The merger is the law firm’s third in the last two years following the acquisition of Allen Ticehurst solicitors in East Grinstead in 2012 and Forest Row firm PR Vince last October.

The completion of the deals means that Mayo Wynne Baxter will have eight offices in Sussex including the long-established bases in Eastbourne, Seaford, Lewes and Brighton.

Stuckey Carr & Co was established in Sussex in 1843 and senior partner, Robin Carr, is the third generation of his family to have been at the firm.

Along with partner Peter Jones, Robin will remain as a consultant post-merger.

Chris Randall, Mayo Wynne Baxter’s chief executive, said: “We are delighted to announce the merger, which is a great move for both firms and means that clients in Storrington and Pulborough will have access to a much broader range of legal services. The extra two offices extend our reach into West Sussex and is a further step towards Mayo Wynne Baxter being the dominant law firm in the county.”

The news follows an announcement that Mayo Wynne Baxter invested heavily in new practice management software to further improve its existing client services delivery.
