A CONTROVERSIAL artist will be taking his work to this year's Glastonbury Festival.

Jamie McCartney, based in Brighton, will exhibit two panels from his Great Wall of Vagina in the Harvey Nipples exhibition at the festival.

Jamie will be on site, carrying out live scans of volunteers' body parts to celebrate the human body coming in different shapes and sizes.

He said: “I'm taking my art out of the gallery and bringing it directly to the people.

“It's time that society grew up around these issues and I'm certain that art has a role to play.”

His new Scanography series uses an adapted office scanner to photograph volunteers and includes fundraising posters for Breast Cancer UK.

Jamie's work will feature in Harvey Nipples, which will be a playful take on the upmarket department store.

The Great Wall of Vagina was created by Mr McCartney to celebrate the diversity that defines the female form.

Like the Harvey Nipples installation, the artwork challenges “body fascism” and ideas about the perfect body.

The spoof store will be selling a range of products including third nipples, testicle implants, bum body paints and pubic hair wigs.

Harvey Nipples will be erected in the Heaven Field of Shangri–La at the Glastonbury Festival this year, from June 26 until June 29.
