Crawley woman defrauded bus company

The Argus: Woman defrauded bus company Woman defrauded bus company

A woman defrauded a bus company by altering tickets to allow her to travel for free on buses in Crawley.

The 18-year-old from Maidenbower, Crawley, admitted to fraud by false representation after she had altered the dates on bus tickets on March 11 and 25 so she did not have to pay on the Metrobus.

She accepted a police caution.

A Metrobus spokesman said: "Metrobus has a zero tolerance approach towards ticket fraud on our buses. We will always take further action against anyone attempting to commit such acts."

A police caution is an easy win for the police as it means they have the details of another criminal who has admitted their GUILT without having
to waste time going to court.

A police caution. While other passengers pay higher and higher fares, she gets off scott free! She and her mates must be laughing their heads off, while the ongoing message is "Don't worry folks! All you will get is a police caution. So carry on cheating the system".
