Three people have been arrested after two serious assaults in Worthing on Thursday (June 26).

In the first incident, police were called to Marine Parade to reports of an assault outside a property.

A 46-year-old was found injured in the beach shelters on the seafront at around 4am with a serious head injury. He is currently in hospital.

Another fight was also reported on Western Row at around midnight which involved the same group of people.

A 43-year-old suffered a swollen face, jaw and hand, bruised back and ribs. He was treated at Worthing Hospital.

A 26-year-old man from Worthing was arrested on suspicion of two counts of GBH and remains in custody.

A 38-year-old woman from Worthing and a 43-year-old man from Worthing have been arrested for GBH and are also still in custody.
