Hang glider crashes

An air ambulance was called to the scene of a hang glider that crashed in Hollingdean, Brighton.

The Kent, Surrey and Sussex helicopter was called to field near Lynchett Close at around 4pm this afternoon (Sunday).

An eyewitness believed the victim was a man in his 60s.

His condition is unknown but was believed to have been conscious when the air ambulance arrived.

Thoughts go to this poor man and his family. I must admit I was interested in trying this sport once until I saw a programme about the ambulance service a few years ago in which they said that hang gliding and paragliding was just coffin chasing. If you crash it's rarely not serious.

I was watching the whole incident from my road through binoculars and when I saw the air ambulance landing I know something was wrong I got out my binoculars and saw that there was a hang glider in the field I feel so sorry for the mans family and hope he recovers soon when I saw the air ambulance flying away towards the hospital I know that the man need urgent treatment I know that the field where he crashed was near my friends house.
