EVERY morning I have an early morning jog around the Walker Fold area. I have noticed that the air is clearer, fresher and crisper and the light of the sun shows the colours of nature more brilliantly. The area is very clean and tidy and a pleasure to be around.
What I found depressing was later, going into Bolton finding terrible deterioration of cleanliness on the streets around the centre. Especially, after my jog around such a beautiful, clean environment previously.
This can and should be addressed as soon as possible to make Bolton a lovely place to live in.
I feel ultimately I needed to address Bolton Council to find a way of encouraging everyone to play a part in keeping Bolton tidy, as I feel if this untidiness continues, then Bolton Town will be stuck with a bad reputation, which of course deters people from visiting.
I hope you can understand my feelings and perhaps look into ways of improving our streets to bring Bolton back to its former glory, a lovely town to walk and shop around.
Unfortunately the general public go off first impressions and I wouldn’t like to think our lovely town could potentially be offensive to any “out of the area” visitor.
Mr Alec Bromley Bolton
