An eight-year-old dog found in a “dreadful condition” is being cared for at an animal rescue centre.
The light brindle-and-white Staffordshire bull terrier was handed into the RSPCA at Patcham, about ten days ago.
She was found in the Moulsecoomb area of Brighton but nobody has come forward to claim her.
The dog, named Cloud by RSPCA workers, had very sore skin with very little fur, eye and ear infections, very bad teeth and was underweight.
Despite needing a lot of treatment, Cloud is friendly and staff said she will make a loving pet once nursed back to health.
Cloud is one of several older dogs at the centre and is in need of a good home.
Anyone interested in adopting Cloud or another dog can visit the centre in London Road or find out more by calling 01273 554218.
Opening hours are Tuesdays to Sundays from 10.30am to 4pm.
