A 17-year-old boy will appear in court accused of shouting homophobic abuse in Newhaven.

Police were called Gibbon Road at around 1.30pm on Wednesday June 11 to reports  a boy was being abusive to a woman.

The boy, who can't be named for legal reasons, is accused of two counts of intentionally aggravated harassment, alarm or distress.

He is bailed to appear at Eastbourne Youth Court on Tuesday July 15.
