Two women were hurt after their car came off the road and collided with a tree.
The accident happened shortly after 4.30pm yesterday on the A267 Frant Road between Bunny Lane and Frant village.
The driver of the car, a 20-year-old woman from Brighton, suffered leg and foot injuries.
The front seat passenger, an 18-year-old woman from Heathfield, suffered back injuries.
The roof of the blue Vauxhall Corsa had to be removed by firefighters while paramedics stabilised the two casualties.
They were later taken to Pembury Hospital, near Tunbridge Wells, for further treatment.
The A267 was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.
Witnesses are asked to call Sussex Police on 101, or email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk, quoting serial 1201 of 3/7.
