The Argus: Three arrested on suspicion of murder Three arrested on suspicion of murder

THREE men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a body was found in a basement flat.

In the early hours of yesterday morning a 30-year-old man with head injuries was found dead at a property in Upper Rock Gardens, Brighton.

The South East Coast Ambulance Service was called to the scene and paramedics were unable to revive the man.

Police rushed to the scene after they were called by the ambulance crew at 4.21am.

The three men, a 41-year-old man, a 28-year-old man and a 24-year-old man, all from Brighton, have been arrested on suspicion of murder while enquiries continue.

At 6.30pm yesterday evening, a coroners van arrived at the property to remove the body.

Residents told The Argus they saw forensic officers in full body suits entering the basement flat.

It is now cordoned off with police tape with a PCSO standing guard.

Residents also told The Argus the property where the incident happened was occupied by two men.

One resident who did not wish to be named said: “I am shocked because I only saw them a couple of weeks ago.

“The flat is known as a bit of a party flat and can be noisy late into the night – but not in an aggressive way.”

Another resident, who also did not wish to be named, said: “First I heard about this was this morning when my girlfriend told me there was police tape outside – it is not nice to hear this happen on your doorstep.”
