A FOUR-YEAR-OLD girl was injured when she was hit by two cyclists.
The incident occurred on Eastbourne promenade between the Pavilion tea rooms and the pier at about 6.30pm on Thursday, July 3.
The girl received facial injuries when she was in collision with two cyclists, who were travelling eastbound.
The cyclists did not stop and the girl was taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital to be treated for cuts and bruises before being discharged later that evening.
The cyclists were both described as white, aged in their twenties, wearing blue shorts, were bare-chested and riding mountain bikes.
Sergeant Julian Williams said: "This section of the promenade is a no cycling zone. We are investigating this incident and are keen for any witnesses or the cyclists to come forward.
"If you can help please contact us on 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 1455 of 3/7.
"Town centre CCTV has pictures of the cyclists which we will consider releasing to the media should they not come forward."
