Mugshots of people police want to speak to about a violent clash at this year’s March for England have been released.

Thugs fought in Brighton city centre after the nationalist march and counter-protest at the seafront on April 27.

Nationalists and anti-fascists hurled furniture and glasses at each other shortly after 2pm at the junction of North Street and Gardner Street, between The Dorset pub and Infinity Foods.

One of the largest police operations Brighton and Hove had ever seen was assembled to separate a total of 150 nationalists from 1,000-plus anti-fascists on the day of the march.

Now police are urging the public to help them trace those pictured to speak to them about the incident between the pub and food store.

Detective Inspector Vicki Harris said she believed some of the people photographed were from Sheffield, while others could be from elsewhere in the country.

She added: “We know someone will recognise these men and women and we are appealing to those people to give us a name.”
