Pages and pages have been written about WWII, yet never once have I seen the Royal Observer Corps mentioned.
Why not?
All through the war years the men at their posts reported, and the centres plotted every aircraft in flight.
Lost and damaged planes were followed and reported to the RAF.
So few people seem to have heard of them, yet they were of paramount importance.
I was on duty as D-Day began, quite unforgettable.
