A woman was injured in a multi-vehicle motorway crash.

Police were called to a multi-vehicle crash on at the A21 at Silverhill, between Hurst Green and Robertsbridge, at 4.43pm on Wednesday (July 9).

Five vehicles were involved - a Peugeot 3008 car, a Ford Transit flat-bed truck, a Peugeot Expert van, a Hyundai Getz car and a Ford Mondeo car.

There was only one casualty, a 44-year-old woman with minor injuries, but the incident led to the A21 being closed and long tailbacks of traffic.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call Sussex Police on 101 or email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk, quoting serial 1036 of 9/7.

No motorway in Esat Sussex - a little bit in West Sussex (M23).
Simple way for Argus journos to tell is if the road has an A or an M in front of it. Some A can be motorway but only if it has an M in brackets afterwards. None in East Sussex though.
