A police officer has won an award for his service to the community.

Hastings town centre beat officer PC Nick Marriott won the Emergency Service Award at the fourth annual Arrow Awards, held at Azur in St Leonards and hosted by Arrow FM radio hosts Kevin King and Paul Williams.

PC Marriott, from Hastings neighbourhood policing team, said: "I amhonoured to have received the award and especially because it is nominated by the public. This really does mean a lot to me."

Chief Inspector Paul Phelps, Sussex Police's district commander for Hastings, said: "What a wonderful way to celebrate the good work that PC Marriott does within Hastings town centre. I am proud that he is part of our town's neighbourhood team."
