A motorcyclist is in a critical condition after a serious collision with a car.
The orange Kawasaki 650cc bike and a black Volkswagen Passat, both travelling east, collided near the former Bungalow Cafe on the A259 Barnhorn Road, Bexhill, on Saturday.
The motorcyclist, a 44-year-old Bexhill man, suffered serious, potentially life-changing injuries and was airlifted to St George's Hospital in London by the Kent, Surrey and Sussex air ambulance.
The car driver, a 67-year-old man from Gillingham, Kent, was unhurt.
The A259 was closed between the Little Common and Pevensey roundabouts for almost four hours shortly after the incident, which took place at about 3pm.
Sgt Stacey Ellott, of the East Sussex road policing unit, said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who saw this collision or noticed either of the parties involved just prior to it occurring.
"They should phone Sussex Police on 101 or email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk, quoting Operation Forum."
Sgt Ellott added: "This was a serious incident which required deployment of the air ambulance and we thank motorists who showed patience and understanding in these difficult and unfortunate circumstances."
