Bishop welcomes historic vote

A bishop has welcomed historic news that the Church of England has voted to allow the appointment of women bishops.

Dr Martin Warner has heralded the news following the historic vote at the General Synod in York this afternoon – 18 months after a previous attempt was blocked.

The Bishop of Chichester said the decision will be widely greeted with huge relief and end a prolonged period of “uncertainty and introspection” in the Church of England.

He added: “Across the whole of society, today's decision will be received as an overwhelming affirmation of women, and their dignity, of their ordained ministry and the gifts that God has given the Church through them.”

The C of E is dying on its backside because it believes in everything, and therefore nothing. Rather like New Labour, it asks people what it should believe in in order to secure attendees on a Sunday. On the other hand, bible based churches are flourishing.

No, I don't have a stake in this, and no I don't attend church.

Great news, Women in charge of declining business ! Lets face it, Christianity has to become more vitriolic and vocal, come out of the woodpile and preach like your Muslim counterparts, not that I am a church-goer as I gave up Sunday school at 11 years.
Christian values have a great importance in our society, they must improve.
