Two woman injured as violence flares at carnival

First published in News

A woman had her toe broken when a car drove over her foot as violence broke out at a carnival.

The 34-year old pedestrian sustained a broken toe when the wheel of a car ran over her foot at Littlehampton Carnival at 5.25pm on Saturday.

Her 44-year-old friend also suffered injuries after being punched in the face.

A 73-year old Littlehampton man was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm, of driving without due care, and of failing to stop for a police officer and has been released on bail until August 1 while enquiries continue.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sussex Police via 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 1041 of 12/7.

Littlehampton's always been a rough place & no amount of posh seafront cafes or 'gentrification' is likely to change that anytime soon! Sorry to all the good folks who live there and there are many, but from my experience there's a sizeable element of ne'er do wells who like to look for trouble & unfortunately give the place a bad name. Good ol' LA!
