The country's first Green MP will have her diaries published in a new book.
Brigton Pavilion MP Caroline Lucas has signed a deal for her first sole authored book titled No Honourable Friends: Parliament and the Fight for Change.
The book, which is part diary and part "scathing analysis of the failure of the parliamentary system", will be published on the eve of the election in May next year.
The announcement has been made on the website of publisher Portobello Books, who also include journalist Yasmin Alibhai-Brown among their stable of authors.
Senior editor Max Porter told The Bookseller: "No Honourable Friends will combine insights into the working life an MP with a much-needed critique of the way we are governed.
"Free from the finger-pointing polemics and rampant hypocrisy of most political books, Caroline’s book will be required reading for anybody interested in how the country works, and how it might work better.”
