Adele’s former country estate is up for sale for £6million.

The mansion, which is described by the estate agent as “privacy personified”, is located just a couple of miles from Partridge Green. And with 13 bedrooms, seven reception rooms, nine bathrooms, staff accommodation and 24 acres of garden, there is plenty of room for all the friends and family.

The Grammy award winning singer rented the home in 2011 and 2012, before she moved to her seafront property in Hove with boyfriend Simon Konecki.

Lock House, as it is known, was built in around 1900 in the Vernacular Revival style before it was refurbished in the 1930s with the inclusion of a ballroom.

Recent additions also include a swimming pool and tennis court.

Estate agents Strutt and Parker describe the Grade II listed property as “substantial” and “set within beautiful mature grounds”.

Their brochure adds: “The property is approached from the drive through a porte-cochere which leads to the fine reception hall with Jacobean style carved staircase.

“Features of particular note include the elegant south facing drawing room with marble fireplace and the Walnut Room with its beautiful panelling.

Scary “The stunning 56 ft kitchen/family room occupies the former ballroom and is ideal for the modern family lifestyle.

“The majority of the bedrooms are arranged in suites, including an extensive and luxuriously appointed principal suite.”

Adele famously gave a US TV host a guided tour of the mansion in 2012 but also reportedly believed it was haunted.

She told 60 Minutes presenter Anderson Cooper that one corridor in particular was “quite scary really”.

She also claimed to have heard strange noises in part of the building which used to be a convent – so she reportedly paid a bodyguard £100,000 to stay with her in the listed building.

She said: “I’m not rattling around here on my own. It gives me the creeps.”

The £6million price tag does not include fixtures and fittings such as curtains, light fittings, garden statuary and ornaments. However, the sellers note that some may be available through a “separate negotiation”.
